chrismccann.jpgHow Long Have You Been Bike Fitting Professionally?

Full time since 2009 but I have been helping riders sort their positions for over 25 years.

When Did You First Get Involved In Bike Fitting

I got into fitting when I wanted to make a comeback to racing after an 18 year break and having a small heart attack.  I wanted to make sure every aspect of my preparation would aid my safe comeback to competitive cycling.

What Do You Love About What You Do?

Every rider that I have fitted has come to me as it was their choice to find a solution to gaining better performance.  Once fitted it is very satisfying to see them smile and cannot wait to hit the road and try out the new position.  Checking the race results and seeing the riders you work with progress and succeed by getting the results they want.

What High Profile Clients Have You Worked With?

  • Philip Deignan, RadioShack
  • David McCann, Giant Asia
  • Ronan McLaughlin, Sean Kelly An Post
  • Bryan Keane, Irish International Triathlete
  • Conor Murphy, 2010 World Short course Triathlon Champion

In Your Mind How Would You Describe Cyclists?

Dedicated masochists.

What Is It About Your Service That Makes You Different From The Rest?

When I book an appointment I always leave enough time to over run, a fitting will normally take 2 hours but if it required 3 hours or 4 hours that’s the time I will spend to make sure the I have achieved the best position and the bike is set right.

In What Way Is Your Service Critical To Cycling?

Bike fitting is critical to all riders to give them confidence in their machine, position and efficiency so they can concentrate on training and racing.
